dance education scholarship program
Santa Barbara Dance Alliance, in 2004, collaborating with local supporters and donors developed a dance education scholarship program. These scholarships go to deserving and committed dance students ages 8-16 who attend Santa Barbara dance studios and schools.
In 2009, 26 students were awarded scholarships totaling $11,000. Local studios recommend the applicants who attend an audition judged by professionals. The funds are paid directly to the studios to assist with the awarded student’s tuition. Our scholarships provide a much needed resource for families who suffer economical setbacks, or who are struggling at low income levels.
